Assignment

The Head of Finance will play a crucial role managing the financial operations and reporting in the
Netherlands. Responsible for the brands, you will be a key member of the management team supporting the profitable growth of the organization through a commercially focused and data led approach built on disciplined financial management, efficient processes and a strong control environment.
 
You will be joining a large company (circa EUR 400m revenue) at an exciting time. They are focused on client growth and delivering improved levels of profitability through development of financial operations and data led commercial insight.
 
The Head of Finance NL will represent the finance lead in the Netherlands, reporting directly to the Managing Director in the Netherlands, with a reporting line into the international Group Finance Director. The opportunity, therefore has significant responsibility and development potential for candidates looking to progress on the FD track over the next few years.
 
The remit will include building a high quality finance function, with responsibility for implementing improvements in financial reporting and control. They welcome highly motivated and diligent finance professionals with a track record of proactively implementing best in class and high quality finance practices.

Resposibilities:

  • Manage the finance team of 10 team members (FP&A, financial reporting and control, accounts payable and treasury, credit control and compliance);
  • Create a highperformance culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Ensuring deliverables are completed on time and to the highest standards;
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements, on a regular basis;
  • Manage the monthly and annual close process, to meet all financial reporting deadlines and presenting the results to management, explaining all variances;
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company policies;
  • Act as a trusted financial advisor to local business and Managing Directors, identifying their needs and providing guidance and support on financial matters;
  • Analyse financial data and performance to provide valuable insights to the local business and Managing Directors, enabling informed decision-making. Monitor financial performance by measuring and analysing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimising the impact of variances;
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for the Dutch division, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial targets;
  • Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and collection of client invoices to support optimum working capital management;
  • Manage accounts payable and treasury activity including all aspects of cash flow and intercompany fund management;
  • Ensure compliance with banking requirements and efficient draw down against the group financing facility.

Profile

  • Driven, highly motivated, resilient and proactive;
  • Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, economics or a related field
  • Professional qualification (e.g. RA or RC);
  • Big 4 background highly desirable;
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch financial regulations and compliance requirements;
  • Excellent analytical, financial modelling, and reporting skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with local business leaders and provide financial guidance;
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, drive performance, prioritise tasks and manage change;
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect, trust and
  • credibility at all levels;
  • Proven track record and excellent recommendations;
  • Fluent in Dutch and English.
